Who it makes sense for

This solution suits the business that still has no website, or has one that no longer represents it: the academy that only shows up on Instagram, the physiotherapist who lives on word of mouth, or the installation company with an old site that's hard to read on a phone. If what you need is for people to find you, understand what you do and get in touch, this is the natural choice.

If your aim is to take payment for orders online, think twice: that's what the e-commerce solution is for, with a catalogue, payments and shipping. And if you already have a decent website but nobody finds it, the problem is usually search visibility, not design.

What to decide before you start

The solution requires at least three sections, but the number matters less than what each one is for. Before talking about colours, answer three questions: what do you want visitors to do (call, ask for a quote, book, come and see you), what doubts do they have before deciding, and which languages do they search in? In Mallorca that last one carries weight: if some of your customers are foreign, plan the languages from the start rather than bolting them on later, as we explain in our guide to multilingual websites.

And gather your material early: copy about your services, your own photos, logo and up-to-date contact details. It's what delays any web project most, grant or no grant.

How we work on it with you

First we check that you meet the programme's requirements and, when applications are open, we apply for the voucher with you over a video call using your digital certificate. Then we design and build the website: responsive, self-manageable and with level AA accessibility under the WCAG 2.1 guidelines, which in practice means sufficient contrast, alternative text on images and navigation that also works with a keyboard. Finally, we take care of the justification.

Because the site is self-manageable, we teach you to change copy, photos and opening hours without relying on anyone. It's how our web design service works, adjusted to what the solution includes.

Mistakes we see often

The most expensive one is the domain being registered in someone else's name: make sure it's yours. Close behind are websites with generic copy that could belong to any business, sites that hide the phone number or contact button, and sites that are published and never touched again. A website with outdated hours or prices makes a worse impression than having no website at all.

What happens once it is live

Domain and hosting are included for a minimum of 12 months; ask from the outset how they renew once that period ends. Basic SEO leaves the site indexed with analytics running, but it's a starting point: competing for specific searches is a job for SEO.
