Kit Digital 2026: what has actually changed

Spain's official gazette reopened the door to unspent funds on 28 January 2026. Here's what it really means — no hype — and we'll notify you the day you can apply again.

On 28 January 2026, Spain's official state gazette (BOE) published Order TDF/39/2026, which amends the Kit Digital rules to allow reinvesting funds that weren't spent in previous rounds. There's been a lot of talk about the programme "coming back", and it's true it's still alive — but let's be precise: for now, this order prioritises people who already applied for Kit Digital before and were left on a waiting list due to lack of funds. If you've never applied, there isn't a general open call for you today — but more rounds are expected while budget remains: the programme has €3,067 million committed.

What actually changes

  • No fixed closing date

Previously, each call had a fixed deadline. Now aid will be available "until funds are fully exhausted" — there could be several rounds.

  • Priority for previous applicants

If you applied for Kit Digital before and were left unfunded due to lack of credit, Red.es can reactivate your file. The exact procedure hasn't been published yet (automatic, or do you need to reapply).

  • €3,067 million at stake

That's the budget Red.es can keep reinvesting into the Kit Digital Programme, even beyond 2026.

  • Amounts stay the same

Segment I up to €12,000, Segment II up to €6,000, Segment III up to €2,000 — unchanged from previous calls.

    Waiting for the operational procedure

Red.es has to announce how and when pending files are reactivated, and whether there'll be a new general call.

Segment I 12.000 € 10 – 49 employees
Segment II 6.000 € 3 – 9 employees

The new order hasn't changed the amounts — they're the same as in the last call.

Frequently asked

Can I apply for Kit Digital right now if I've never applied?

As of today there's no general open call for new applications. The order first reactivates the files of people who already applied and were left unfunded. As soon as Red.es opens a general call, we'll let you know.

I already applied and was left unfunded. What do I do?

You don't need to do anything on your own yet: the order provides for Red.es to reactivate those files with the remaining funds. Join the alert list, and if you have doubts about your specific file, we can help review it.

How much money can I get?

It depends on your business size: up to €12,000 (10-49 employees), up to €6,000 (3-9 employees) or up to €2,000 (self-employed and up to 2 employees). The amounts haven't changed with the new order.

How will I know when a new call opens?

We watch the BOE and Red.es's electronic office. Sign up below and we'll email you the same day — you don't have to keep watch yourself.

Can I start preparing my project before the window opens?

Yes, and it's the smart move: recent calls ran out within weeks. If your project is already defined with us as Digitalisation Agent, we submit the application the same day it opens, without losing time.

Are you really an accredited Digitalisation Agent?

Yes, Teix Web Studio is an accredited Digitalisation Agent of the Kit Digital programme. We handle the whole application and justification for you.
